• WEEKLY ZOOM ‘SIT AND WRITE’ WRITING HAVENS
• ONE-ON-ONE ‘FINISH YOUR WRITING’ WITH PRIVATE COACHING AND FEEDBACK OVER 4, 8 OR 12 WEEKS (VIA PHONE CALLS AND EMAIL EXCHANGE OF WRITING)
• POLISH YOUR CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOK STORY/IDEA
WEEKLY ZOOM ‘SIT AND WRITE’ WRITING HAVENS occur on Tues mornings 9.30am-11.30am, Tues evening 5.30pm-7.30pm and on Wednesday lunchtime 12.15pm-2.15pm. (On Wed, you may join early at 12 noon if you want to just have a chat before we start at 12.15pm) Of course, these times are all Sydney, Australia times, AEST, so please adjust your clock.
The cost is $21 per week or $18 concession (concession is available to anyone not working full time).
The fantastic thing about the writing havens, is once you’ve paid to attend one week, you can attend more than one haven in that week, i.e. attend two or all three havens in the same week for no extra charge.
Here’s all the other details:
Writing Havens
This is a regular weekly group which runs for two hours, however we’re usually only on Zoom for the first 15 mins—this is when we discuss what we’re going to write—and then back on Zoom for the last 15 mins—when we discuss how our writing went. For those middle 90 minutes, we turn off Zoom and ‘sit and write’.
During these last 15 minutes on Zoom, there's also time to provide brief feedback on one writer's work (up to 2500 words). This writing is emailed to you on the weekend prior to the haven, however, this is an optional part of the haven.
It's optional to have to read and provide feedback on other writers' work. And it's optional to provide writing for feedback.
Confidentiality Agreement:
If you attend a writing haven, you’ll need to abide by our confidentiality agreement:
When writing is discussed on Zoom or when forwarded to group members for feedback, it’s done so with the understanding that it's to be kept confidential and 'for your ears and eyes only'. When it comes to written work that you receive to provide feedback on, you may print out the writing (if that helps you to read it) but the writing is not to be forwarded or shared with others without permission from the writer.
Some writers seek feedback from as many readers as possible, especially if that person is an avid reader of the genre, so often the answer will be 'yes', but please still ask permission as some writers don’t wish to share their writing beyond our regular group members.
If you know for sure you won't be reading the writing that will be forwarded for feedback, please let me know and I won't forward it to you.
ONE-ON-ONE ‘FINISH YOUR WRITING’ WITH PRIVATE COACHING AND FEEDBACK OVER 4, 8 OR 12 WEEKS. The use of weekly or fortnightly writing goals to help you finally finish your project.
